We also might have an experience of seeing a world that we thought we were familiar with before, and now we are seeing it for the first time. Or we might be a newbie in a field that we thought was familiar to us, and now we are completely unfamiliar.
I can’t say that I’ve ever been more aware than I am now of the fact that the world around me is really not that familiar. It’s one of those “it’s a bit like a foreign language” moments where you suddenly realize that you’re using words that you weren’t aware you had. I’m also noticing that there are a lot of unfamiliar words in the vocabulary of the people around me.
